We’re excited to welcome you to our first-ever agency-wide UTA career fair — aptly named OneUTA!
We hope that if you are a tiny bit transit curious, you’ll come join us for this career fair. It is a terrific opportunity to talk with UTA staff from various departments.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at UTA’s Depot District garage, located at 669 South 200 West in Salt Lake City. Once you’re there, you’ll find:
- Drive the Bus opportunities at 11 a.m., Noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. (Available after signing a waiver and providing your driver’s license)
- Tours of our bus, FrontRunner and TRAX facilities at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Over 40 career booths with UTA staff
- Detailed info about our many training, leadership development, and apprenticeship programs
- Kiddie Korner with conductor hats, coloring books, and stickers
- Application stations to apply for jobs with English- and Spanish-speaking support
- Food trucks, games, and prizes (Food is available for purchase)
Why a Career in Public Transit
There’s a lot of reasons to consider a career in public transit. Transit Center summarizes the benefits well in a recent report:
“American transit agencies employ approximately 430,000 people who have chosen to work in the industry for various economic, social, and environmental reasons. Transit jobs have historically been good jobs, and the field’s competitive wages and benefits have launched many Americans into the middle class. For workers concerned about the climate, transit provides a chance to play a role in reducing carbon emissions directly. While the industry is far from perfect, transit has provided many workers a rewarding career that has sustained them and their families.”

Keep in mind that we employ over 2,900 employees, have services across six counties, and are growing. Though Salt Lake County is the highest serviced area, we also have service units in Provo and Ogden, so you can find something that works for you.
